I am a recent graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication with a B.S. in Public Relations.

As a recent graduate of Boston University, I have a passion for strategic storytelling and brand engagement, I bring a unique blend of academic training, hands-on experience, and creative insight to support communications initiatives at an organization/company.

Through coursework at American University in Washington, DC and Boston University, I have been able to grow academically and enhance my public relations skills. I have taken a variety of courses that are vital to a career in PR including Public Relations, PR Writing, PR Case Studies, Media Strategies and Management, Digital Media and PR, and Business Fundamentals of Public Relations. I also studied abroad in London during Fall 2024 where I learned about British PR and how international PR works. I am excited to apply what I have learned in school to an internship and career in Public Relations.

In terms of PR experience, I have had an internship at a PR agency in London as well as taking BU’s PRLab which is COM’s student run PR agency. In PRLab I acted as an Account Executive for a nonprofit striving to bring a national rugby team to Haiti. In this role, I mainly did media relations and helped design social media posts that were consistent with their branding. In London, I was an intern at IPR London which is a PR agency specializing in fashion. I learned a lot in this role and got to see how real world PR works outside of academics.

I am also a content creator on bookstagram, which is the book community on Instagram. On this platform, I use Canva and outreach skills to design posts which range from book reviews to posts related to books. Find it @charleys_bookshe1f to check out my posts! I have 1.1k followers and have reached up to 40k accounts on my highest end of engagement. I have a lot of fun with this account and have demonstrated by ability to reach audiences well and act creatively.

In addition to my role as a content creator, PRLab, and internship at IPR London, I have been a part of the BU’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America for three semesters helping to create graphics for the Instagram for guest speakers and write content for the blog. As a part of Her Campus’s PR+Marketing Team, I help do the weekly newsletter that goes out to 75+ members while learning more about PR. I have been a part of Terrier Nation, BUTV10’s athletics show as well as being a part of others for fun.

Outside of school, I have worked several retail jobs over the course of three years in both Washington, DC and Boston, MA balancing school and work life. Over the summer, I worked at Buffalo Exchange as a cashier. In these roles, I have learned time management, teamwork, organization, responsibility, and strong communication skills.

In my spare time, you can find me exploring, reading, playing video games, watching hockey, making jewelry, and exploring wherever I currently am.
